Tarpatties and oily debris on Pensacola Beach

Incident Report Description

Tarballs and some tar patties were washing ashore after a high wind event on Friday 10/14.
Thankfully clean up crews were present addressing the incoming pollution. The plunge step appears to have reformed after Tropical Storm Lee had destroyed this section of the shoreline. Tar balls and seashells are gathering here once again. This is important because children play along this area and birds feed in this beach environment as well. Officials need to be mindful of the continued health and environmental impact this might have on the community.
